Tiebreak = Heartbreak for Fabi.
Magnus showed why he is considered a better all-around chess player, but he could not win in the classical format. Fabi showed his preparation, but Magnus crushed him 3-0 in Rapids. The chess world is divided on the methods, but Carlsen is still King.
Here are photos from the state championship that ended on September 4th. See you next year in SOUTH FLORIDA. It is it their turn to host in the rotation!
Congratulations are in order for Florida Chess Association member Erick Zhao from Gainesville. Erick took 2nd place (ON TIEBREAKS) 9.0 score at this FIDE - World Chess Federation International tournament in Santiago Spain. His fellow Gainesville teammate and FCA member, Bach Ngo finished tied for 4th, but 22nd (ON TIEBREAKS) with the 7.5. Amazing!
